Job Description
We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Senior Behavioral Health Unit. The Senior Behavioral Health Unit is a 15-bed inpatient psychiatric unit that specializes in treating elderly patients with mental illness, including conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. You will work as part of a hands-on care team, including Registered Nurses, mental health technicians, a psychiatrist, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, a social worker, and a recreational therapist.
As an LPN, you will assist with patient care under the direction of the physician and/or Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include medication administration, observing and documenting patient conditions, maintaining equipment, and ensuring patient care is provided in accordance with established standards of practice. You will collaborate as part of a patient-focused team to deliver excellent care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with patient care under the direction of physicians or Registered Nurses.
- Provide medication administration and documentation.
- Monitor and observe patients for illness and injury.
- Assist with patient room restocking and equipment maintenance.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care.
Required Qualifications:
- Licensed as a Practical Nurse in the State of Wisconsin.
- Minimum of 1 year of patient care experience in a healthcare facility.
- CPR (AHA Healthcare Provider) certification at hire or within 60 days.
