Position Title: Utilities Supervisor - 2nd Shift
Location: Zeeland, MI
Salary: $59,000 – $115,000 per year

Job Overview: The Utilities Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the seamless operation, maintenance, and management of all plant utilities. This includes Anhydrous Ammonia Refrigeration, Plant Water, Steam Generation, Pneumatic, Fire Protection, and HVAC Systems. The role requires leading a dedicated team of night shift technicians, ensuring adherence to safety and food safety policies, and maintaining compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations through our Process Safety Management program.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Lead by example, ensuring team adherence to all Safety and Food Safety policies.
  • Possess and apply in-depth mechanical and operational knowledge of plant utility systems.
  • Establish and maintain an efficient onboarding training program for utility technicians.
  • Utilize the CMMS/SAP system for data entry and work management, and train team members in its use.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance, repairs, and daily operations.
  • Conduct plant audits, PM reviews, and follow up to completion.
  • Collaborate interdepartmentally to meet customer needs and foster Win/Win partnerships.
  • Manage productivity and job performance of employees.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable PSM/Safety/Environmental policies.
 
Requirements:
 
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Technical training in Industrial Refrigeration.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role; 5 years in a mechanical/refrigeration-related field preferred. In-depth knowledge of ammonia refrigeration processes, equipment, and technologies is essential.
  • Skills: Proficiency with CCMS systems, Microsoft Office, and excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience in the food processing and packaging industry is preferred.
  • Residency: Must reside in the US. Sponsorship is not available.
