Job Title: Inpatient Facility Medical Coder (40h Day)
Location: Remote
Salary: $27.26 – $32.00 / hr

Job description
Candidates must reside either in Washintgon or Oregon to be considered for this position. 
Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

• Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years in coding, including four (4) years in inpatient facility coding or four (4) years in a coding auditor role with inpatient coding proficiency.

• Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

• Certification:

  • One of the following is required:
    • Registered Health Information Technician
    • Coding Specialist
    • Registered Health Information Administrator

Additional Requirements:

• Proficiency with EMR patient documentation systems and intermediate computer skills.
• Advanced knowledge of disease processes, diagnostic and surgical procedures, and coding systems (ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, HCPCS/CPT).
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding principles.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Strong time management, organization, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage significant workloads and work efficiently under pressure.
• Independent judgment and ethical coding practices as per AHIMA standards.
  
  Qualifications:
• Five (5) years of experience in a health information/medical record environment, with facility coding experience including Medicare guidelines.
• Degree in Health Information Management.
• Proficient with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to analyze data related to productivity and audits.
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10 coding guidelines and CMS HCC Risk Adjustment requirements.
